Just when we thought the urban sectors of Super Earth were stabilizing, the Illuminate dropped a massive, floating nightmare directly onto our city maps: the Leviathan warship. This airborne threat looks like a colossal, autocratically-minded whale gliding over skyscrapers, and it has already chewed through countless squads who tried to bring it down with standard firearms.
The Leviathan is incredibly tanky and clad in heavy armor. If your squad rolls up without a coordinated anti-tank plan, you are going to get completely wiped. Below is a comprehensive tactical breakdown of the ship's massive health pool, its true weak points, and the absolute best stratagems to turn this alien centerpiece into a smoking crater.
Armor & Health Pool Breakdown
First, let's look at the raw numbers, and they are intimidating. The Leviathan features an estimated total health pool sitting somewhere between 15,000 to 22,000 HP. To put that into perspective, it is a flying fortress.
Its outer hull is clad entirely in Armor Value 5 (Tank 1 / Heavy Armor). If you try shooting it with standard primary weapons, heavy machine guns, or even the trusty autocannon, your shots will completely deflect off its intact shell. Do not waste your standard ammunition on an armored hull; you need heavy armor-penetrating ordnance to make even a scratch.
True Weak Points vs. Armor Breaking
Unlike some heavy targets in the game, the Leviathan does not have a single "instant-kill" headshot point. Taking it down requires a staged approach: you must use Anti-Tank (AT) weapons to break its external components, which strips away the outer shell and opens up highly vulnerable, lower-armor hitboxes.
-
The Back Fin & Tail (The Optimal Target): This is hands-down the best spot to focus. The back fin breaks faster than any other external component. Once you destroy the tail or the fins, it forces open an internal weak point marked by spewing blue flames. Crucially, this exposed area drops down to Armor Value 4 (Heavy Armor), meaning support weapons like the LAS-98 Laser Cannon or the APW-1 Anti-Materiel Rifle can now punch through and deal massive, direct damage to the main health pool.
-
Underbelly Glowing Circles: If you look up from directly beneath the ship, you will see three glowing blue disks. These are its engine hubs. The front circle breaks relatively quickly under fire and will amplify explosive damage to that specific quadrant. While popping all three circles deals devastating structural damage to the ship, note that it will not cause an immediate crash. It is a great way to soften it up, but it won't yield an instant kill.
-
Side Wings: The Leviathan features side wings that possess roughly 6,000 HP each. Stripping away their outer plating requires anti-tank rounds. Specifically targeting and breaking a front wing is highly recommended, as doing so completely disables the ship's forward-facing sniper cannons, heavily reducing its offensive threat.
Top Effective Stratagems Against the Leviathan
Choosing the right loadout is the difference between a successful extraction and a failed operation. Here is how our current anti-tank options perform against the warship:
Stratagem / Weapon
Performance Rating
Field Notes
FAF-14 Spear
Excellent
Consistently downs a Leviathan in 5 shots. Its default front-head lock-on mechanism makes it highly reliable from a distance.
GR-8 Recoilless Rifle
Excellent
Requires 5 to 6 direct shots to kill. This is a top-tier choice if you utilize rapid team-reloading, allowing you to delete the target in seconds.
E/AT-12 Anti-Tank Emplacement
Great
Deals immense structural damage. It requires roughly 13 to 15 shots to secure a kill, but it provides excellent, sustained defensive firepower.
Eagle Strafing Run
Great
Highly effective if lined up correctly. If thrown so the jet strafes perfectly along the entire longitudinal axis of the ship, it can severely soften or even kill a Leviathan in 1 to 2 passes.
Exosuits (Emancipator / Patriot)
Situational
The Emancipator can shred the ship quickly, but it will drain roughly half of its total ammunition reserves to do so. The Patriot variant is not recommended.
Note: Continuous-fire or single-use weapons like the LAS-99 Quasar Cannon, EAT-17, and Commando lack the rapid burst DPS needed to destroy a Leviathan outright, but they remain highly useful for stripping away the initial armor plating for your teammates.
Combat Tips & Squad Survival Strategy
-
Watch the Spotlight: The Leviathan is armed with Disintegration Culverins that deal a staggering 400 damage per second—meaning they can vaporize a Helldiver in half a second. Before it fires, the ship shines a massive, obvious spotlight directly on its target. If that spotlight hits you, you have a tight 1 to 3 second window to dive behind hard cover. Do not hesitate; dive immediately.
-
Buddy-Up for Reloads: Because of the Leviathan's massive health pool, a lone diver trying to fire, reload, and fire again 6 times with a Recoilless Rifle will almost certainly get sniped before finishing the job. Team up! Have a buddy carry your ammo pack and use the team reload mechanic to fire off shots in rapid succession, shredding the ship before it can even react or drift out of sight.
-
Avoid Target Overflow: Scattershot damage is useless here. Do not have your squad shooting random, different parts of the ship. Pick a specific section—ideally the back tail—break the outer armor with your heavy anti-tank rounds, and then have everyone focus fire with medium or heavy armor-penetrating weapons straight into the glowing blue, burning wound.
-
Line of Sight Blockers & Smoke: If your squad's heavy stratagems are on cooldown or you find yourselves without heavy AT gear, do not engage. Treat the Leviathan like a traveling natural disaster. Use Super Earth's tall concrete city buildings to break line of sight, or deploy Smoke Stratagems (like the Eagle or Orbital Smoke) to completely blind its targeting sensors and slip away undetected.
